CLAUDIA CAPRILES -Dancer, creator and researcher born in Caracas, Venezuela.
- Project manager PLAN-CERO multidisciplinary.
- Master in Contemporary Philosophical Thought 2015 at the University of Valencia, Spain.
- Degree in Dance and Master in Choreographic Composition at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany, under the direction of teachers Pina Bausch, Hans Zullig, and Jean Cebron.
-Founding Member of the University Institute of Dance and former Academic Deputy Director.
In 2008 the University Institute of Dance was incorporated into the University of Experimental Arts UNEARTE in Caracas,Venezuela. In this university she taught "Contemporary dance technique", "Dance teaching methodology", "Composition and Choreography" and "History of modern dance".
- As a performer Capriles danced with the "Neuer Tanz" companies from Düsseldorf, and "Essener
Theater" in Germany. In Venezuela she worked with the following dance companies: "Acción Colectiva", "Rajatabladanza", "Lapuesta" and "Danzahoy".
-Her creative work has been developed within the framework of the Festival of Young Choreographers of
Venezuela, as well as in many profesional companies in Caracas and also other countries in America and Europe. In her creations the use of space, in participation with the music, voice, lighting and video have resulted in an interdisciplinary proposal that escapes the limits of dance and integrates new elements into her choreographic creation as a whole.
-The unipersonal performed by the artist herself "THE INVOLUNTARY DANCE OF MY VOICE"(premio municipal de danza 2011/Municipal Dance Award 2011), her group choreography “A-TOPOS” (Experimental Company of the Arts. Venezuela), “THE RITE OF SPRING” (premio municipal de danza 2014/Municipal Dance Award 2014) “IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER" (National Dance Company of Venezuela) and “PIANO AL TIEMPO” created especially for the "Teresa Carreño National Ballet" in homage to the venezuelan composer and pianist Teresa Carreño, as well as her recent work OUSÍA (2020), have received the critical and public acclaim.
-She recently taught a movement workshop at the "John Cranco Schule" in the city of Stuttgart and did a montage workshop for the Reposition of the choreography "Cuerdas Simple Medida"("Strings simple measure") by Sonia Sanoja (Caracas 1932/2017) presented at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart throughout this year with the participation of 8 dancers
selected from JCS Stuttgart Ballet.
- Claudia Capriles currently lives in Caracas and is dedicated to researching, teaching and the choreographic creation.
